UHI Perth Unveils Graduate Showcase 2025

Celebrating emerging creative talent

UHI Perth is proud to announce its Graduate Showcase 2025, an inspiring public exhibition highlighting the exceptional work of final-year students from the BA (Hons) Art and Contemporary Practices and BA (Hons) Visual Communication and Design programmes.

The exhibition will run from 10 - 15 May 2025 (excluding Sunday 11 May), 10am - 5pm daily, at The Famous Grouse Ideas Centre within Creative Exchange, Perth PH1 5NW.

This annual showcase offers a platform for emerging artists and designers to present their final projects to the public, creative industries, and potential employers. Featuring a varied mix of painting, sculpture, digital media, graphic design, illustration, and interdisciplinary practices, the exhibition represents the creative spirit and innovation the students develop at UHI Perth.

Christiana Margiotti, Director of Curriculum for Arts, Humanities and Education, expressed her enthusiasm: “Our graduates have worked incredibly hard to reach this stage, and their commitment to pushing boundaries and exploring new creative territories is truly commendable. The showcase is a culmination of their dedication and a testament to the vibrant educational environment at UHI Perth."

The exhibition celebrates student achievements and acts as a link between education and industry, providing opportunities for networking, collaboration, and professional development.

Lecturer Simon Reekie highlighted the strong connections between the programmes and the local creative industries: “Both honours degree programmes engage directly with the creative sector, making a real impact on our community, economy, and cultural identity. From professional placements in health and education sectors to branding projects for regional landmarks like the Crannog Centre, our students are creating work with lasting influence.”

As part of their final-year experience, students from the BA (Hons) Art and Contemporary Practices have undertaken placements with organisations across Scotland, including Impact Arts, Project Ability, The Walled Garden, Dundee Rep, Women’s Aid, and Perth Museum and Art Gallery.

The BA (Hons) Visual Communication and Design programme empowers students to explore transformative projects across industries, from corporate branding to public engagement campaigns.
